***A Detailed Guide with Picture is Available to Download***
If you have a personal account associated with your Microsoft Account, it will prompt you to choose between your Work or School account and your Personal account each time you sign in. Personal accounts are often made by accident or if a step was followed incorrectly or out of order during the initial steps presented in the transition guide. This is a simple fix to remove. Leaving the personal account logged in might cause issues, so it is recommended that they be removed.
Signing Into the Personal Account
1. Sign out of any Office 365/Outlook/Microsoft pages you are on.
2. Navigate to https://portal.office.com.
3. Sign in.
4. You will be prompted to sign into your work or school account or personal account. Choose personal.
5. If you know the password, you can sign in. Otherwise, click on send a code to [email address].
You can open a new window and go back to https://portal.office.com and sign into your work or school account to retrieve the code.
The recovery code email can take up to 10 minutes to go to your main inbox.
Once you're signed in
1. Sign into the Personal Outlook Email Account.
2. Navigate to settings and select My Microsoft Account.
3. Navigate to Your Info and then Sign-in Preferences.
4. Create a new alias by clicking Add email.

6. Click on Change sign-in preferences.

8. Click Remove by the email address you want to use for work.
9. Sign out, close the browser, reopen the browser, and sign back into the account at either https://portal.office.com or https://office.com.
After step 9 you should be able to sign into your account without issue. If the message appears again, clear your browser's cache and cookies then restart the computer and try again.
